Word from the developer

Mad Head Bump is run primarily by a single person. All the data gathered through our games or website is used solely to improve them, so you and other players and users can be as happy with them as possible. Have fun playing, and if you have any questions regarding the data usage, please contact us via email.

Privacy Policy for our games

This Privacy Policy describes how your data is handled in our games, developed by Mad Head Bump and distributed via Steam and other online services.

Data Collected

We do not collect any personally identifiable information (PII) directly from players. However, our games use the following third-party services:

Aptabase (Analytics)

We use Aptabase, a privacy-friendly analytics tool, to collect anonymized gameplay statistics. This includes:

  • Game events (e.g. play sessions, level completions).
  • Operating system and game version.
  • Country (based on anonymized IP; the IP itself isn’t stored).
  • Timestamp of events.

No IP addresses, permanent user identifiers, device IDs, or cookies are stored. The data is used solely to improve the game experience and balance.

Note

Analytics is entirely optional. You will be asked for consent when launching the game for the first time on a given device, and you can disable or re-enable analytics at any time via the in-game settings menu. This is a per-device setting, not per account, so you may be asked for consent multiple times.

Steamworks

The game uses Steamworks, Valve’s platform services required to deliver the game on Steam store, which may include:

  • Cloud save storage.
  • Platform-level crash reports.
  • Achievements, friends, and other Steam features.

Please refer to Valve’s Privacy Policy for details on how Steam handles your data.

Unity Engine Notice

Our games are built using the Unity Engine, a game development platform provided by Unity Technologies. While we do not currently use any network-based Unity solutions (like Unity Ads), the Unity Engine may collect limited technical information about your device for diagnostic or performance purposes. No personal or identifying information is collected through Unity in our games. For more information, you can review Unity’s privacy policy.

Data Usage

The data collected is used for:

  • Improving gameplay balance and user experience.
  • Fixing bugs and stability issues.
  • Understanding general trends in game usage.

Feedback surveys and contact

From time to time, we may ask players to fill out voluntary feedback surveys to help improve our games, for example during playtesting. These surveys may include an optional field for your email address or other contact information, which you can choose to provide if you wish to be contacted about specific feedback or bug reports you submitted.

If you provide your contact information, it will be:

  • Used only to follow up on your report or suggestion.
  • Never shared with third parties.
  • Not used for marketing or newsletters.

You may request to have your contact information deleted at any time by contacting us.

Website Privacy Policy

Our website madheadbump.com does not collect any personal data beyond what is automatically gathered by standard web server logs (e.g. IP address, browser type, time of access) for basic security and maintenance.

We may collect anonymous usage statistics, such as the number of visitors and the pages viewed. This data is used only to improve the webstie. Also, the website may use some essential cookies needed to make the website functional.
